Responsible for the timely submission of technical or professional medical claims to insurance companies including physician offices, hospitals, nursing homes, or other health care facilities.
Assures that all aspects of processing and applying payments, zero pay vouchers and adjustments received from patients and insurance companies are done accurately and in a timely manner.
Patient Account Representative
Provides outstanding customer service follow up to the patients and their families. Responsible for assuring that the patients and their families understand their financial responsibilities. Implements patient budgets and post patient payments to patient accounts. Assists self-pay patients in obtaining state assistance or making payment arrangements for their medical treatment.
Reviews, verifies, and audits various documents such as EOBís, contracts and out-of-state hospital claims. Primary task involves determining why a claim is underpaid and escalate the issue, i.e. recover underpayments that the insurance company owes or identify the contract load discrepancy made by the hospital.
